- This DVD is labeled to be "Uncensored." Despite this, the dialogue from all of the episodes still remain censored on the DVD. The "Uncensored" labeled was even given to the DVD releases of the second season and the third season. The Season 2 DVD release actually contains uncensored dialogue and content, however, the Season 3 DVD release, despite being labeled as "Uncensored", isn't uncensored at all, similar to Season 1's DVD release. Additionally, the second and third DVD releases also have their own promos.
- This DVD also has 2.0 Stereo and closed captioning.
- This is the only DVD release of Superjail where all of the episodes are in a production order with "Dream Machine" being placed as the third episode and "Cold-Blooded" being placed as the last episode of the season, due to the season's production order.
- In the United Kingdom, they're was a DVD release of the first season, labeled as the "Complete Season", which was released on April 12th 2010. Unlike this DVD, the United Kingdom DVD release had its very own promo and a very different DVD cover.
