Superfail! is the second episode of Season Three. It is the twenty-third episode of Superjail overall.

Synopsis[]

Jared accidentally knocks The Warden out and must learn on how to run Superjail by himself.

Plot (overview)[]

The episode starts with a American TV channel playing on a television inside Jacknife’s motel room. Jacknife is currently sleeping on a bed and has a dream where he is honored by the military before seeing the breasts of a bunch of marching women. Jacknife soon sees a navy plane land, making a woman wearing an American bikini coming out. He is attracted by the woman and tries grabbing her, but Jacknife ends up sleep walking and runs out of his room in the motel and falls into a car to suddenly drive away, causing an explosion and a fire afterwards, which kills some people in the process. The sleeping-walking Jacknife and the car drive on the sidewalks while hitting and killing tons of innocent people. The car ends up driving through some buildings such as a car wash, a pet store, a jewelry store, an art building, a bank and a strip club before crashing. After the crash, Jailbot appears and captures a half-naked Jacknife (wearing only his underwear). As Jailbot takes Jackife to Superjail, starting up the intro, they fly by some burning buildings and the motel, which was caused by the explosion that Jacknife caused.

In Superjail, Jared heads to the top where The Warden pops out of a bird egg and hatches to expand his binoculars. He views a violent grassy place as the location that he wants his new petting zoo at. As The Warden wants to list any of his animals by a certain category, Jared tells him about the inmates being benefited from something more practical such as a computer lab, which The Warden finds to be "totally boring." The Warden and Jared head to the top of a building with an eyeball while the former is using more of his binoculars and tells something that ends with the word of "failure." Jared thought that the word "failure" was a very harsh word. The Warden mentions a similar sentence that even ends with the same word, leading to Jared pushing The Warden off the building, making him land on his head several times until he has a flashback of his past where he goes into a yard full of vicious dead inmate-eating Dobermen.

The young Warden gives half of a cookie to a sad Doberman puppy that is growled at by his siblings when drinking their mother’s milk. But The Warden’s Father soon appears to electrocute both The young Warden and the puppy. After the flashback ends, The Warden lands down the stairs and gets up, but is launched in the air by a spring and gets hit by some Superjail buildings before being crashed into a large eyeball on one of them. He lands on the ground before being crushed by the object. Jared arrives and wonders on what he actually has done. Jared tries pushing the large eyeball and hears Alice arriving at the same time. While Jared hides The Warden, Alice climbs up to ask The Warden about the library being dozed to make room for the petting zoo. Jared tells her about them getting a computer lab instead of a petting zoo. However, Alice didn’t actually mind about it and goes away.

Due to The Warden being currently passed out, Jared tries running Superjail by himself and sees Jailbot arriving with a gray box. He gets out a laptop to see The Warden’s presence. Afterwards, Jared gets out an energy drink out of his desk drawer to drink, but spits out the drink after hearing The Warden suddenly speak, despite technically being passed out. Jared figures out that this is actually his mind playing tricks on him. As Jared is handling Superjail by himself, he unplugs The Doctor’s Laboratory to replace it with the computer lab. The power and lights inside The Doctor's Laboratory are turned off to release all of The Doctor’s Mutants/Experiments out of there. The Doctor becomes worried about his now-released creations, which are now roaming freely around Superjail and its old sewage treatment network. The angry Doctor enters the computer lab and yells at Jared, who thinks he still can continue his experiments and tells him about this being ordered directly from the passed-out Warden. The Doctor knows about this being a very big mistake that Superjail has ever made. All of the now-released Doctor’s Mutants/Experiments wreck havoc and kill tons of inmates throughout Superjail's Courtyard.

Inside the computer lab, several inmates are on the computers. Jared thinks that they’re gonna learn about G.E.Ds and read about current events to become much better people. However, the inmates are instead looking up internet pornography, including Jailbot, who’s looking at a picture of a copier on a computer. As Jared asks why the inmates at looking at porn, Turban yells at him while The Warden in his mind congrats Jared again on being a "failure" for the porn. As Jared yells at him again for not being a "failure", all of the released Mutants/Experiments appear in the computer lab and wreck havoc everywhere. However, the inmates, such as Nicky, are too busy being distracted by the porn that their looking at on the computers. Jared soon sees The Warden being taken away by a three-headed dog mutant, prompting him to chase after the large dog mutant before failing.

Jared goes to Alice’s room to see Alice and Beefy wrestling while videotaping on a laptop for a Jailstream. When Jared appears on the camera, all of the viewers of the Jailstream disappear. Alice assumes that Jared is making her viewers drop off the stream. Jared knows that her viewers are currently being mangled by monsters. He goes out of the room to chase after the three-headed dog mutant with The Warden in the cellblock hallways, but has hallucinations of The Warden’s head appearing on the bodies of mutants and monsters, including a vending machine, to taunt him on being a "failure." Jared tells his hallucinations to shut up and crashes the kart into the vending machine. He gets up and goes away while Jailbot appears to throw the damaged kart away to dry hump the vending machine, as much of the dismay of the head of The Warden’s hallucination. As Jared is chasing the mutant, the creature heads into the hole of Superjail’s sewage treatment plant. Jared stops, looks down and admits that he is actually a "failure."

In the severely damaged laboratory of The Doctor, the latter is upset about his creations leaving him. Jared apologizes to The Doctor and tells him to help him as he is the only known one who knows about Superjail’s old sewage treatment plant. After hearing The Doctor speak, Jared makes his own speech on wanting to recuse The Warden and put all of Superjail back to normal. The Doctor accepts his speech and Jared thanks him, even telling him that he’ll get back all of his electricity while funding him for now on. The Doctor also admits that he’ll keep Jared’s head upon his demise. Jared makes the deal with him.

In the old sewage treatment plant, Jared and The Doctor use some friendly mutants to capture any of the hostile and released mutants before heading to the sedimentation tanks to recuse The Warden from the large dog mutant and her pups. While The Warden is rescued by them, he has another flashback of his past where his Father ordered him to kill the Doberman puppy, which the young Warden was gonna give a cookie to, with an axe. The sad young Warden ends up killing the animal, making him cry. The Warden soon wakes up in The Doctor's Laboratory, next to Jared and The Doctor, after his sad past flashback and wonders about the petting zoo before Jared accepts his idea. A petting zoo in Superjail (which is titled "Uncle Doctor’s Family Petting Zoo") is eventually created. The Warden cuts a red rope with large scissors to open up the petting zoo for the inmates to enter. The episode ends with Jared being glad that everything is currently working out, but accidentally puts the large scissors through The Warden’s body with blood splattering.

  • This episode marks the first appearances of The Warden’s Superjail Soldiers since "Time-Police Part 2", making this episode their first appearances in the series’ current timeline.
  • In the opening sequence of this episode, the explosions from "Sticky Discharge", the fourth episode of Season 3 (which was actually the first episode of the season to be produced), are reused. • In the broadcast version of this episode, during The Warden's flashback, there is a huge red and black censor bar saying "Censored", which covers a very gory shot of a dead inmate's guts, which are spilled and eaten by Dobermen after being torned up by them.
    • An uncensored version of this scene was available for a limited time on a DeviantArt account from one of the series’ layout artists before Adult Swim’s legal team ordered it to be taken down.
    • Another red and black censor box is shown covering the crotch bludge of Alice and Sweet Cheeks when the former is videotaping herself wrestling with the latter.
  • If you look closely at the inmates’ usernames on Alice’s Jailstream, you can see:
    • Angry-Dragon27
    • LemonPartyPig

Cultural References[]

  • The TV channel that Jacknife is watching at the beginning of the episode is called WXBX, which is named after an oldies radio station in the state of Virginia. The channel itself is being broadcasted in Watuppa, Massachusetts.
  • The giant three-headed dog mutant hybrid (which has the body of a Rat) that kidnaps The Warden could most likely be a reference to Cerberus, the three-headed hellhound that guarded the gates of Hades in Greek mythology.
  • On Alice's laptop of jailstream, underneath the video of Alice and Sweet Cheeks wrestling, you can see a link that shows a small bird and the word "Titter." This is an obvious parody of Twitter.
