Superjail Grand Prix is the ninth episode of Season Two. It is the twentieth episode of Superjail overall.

Plot[]

The episode begins with an Italian racer named Franco winning a race. He is about to get his trophy when he sees Jacknife peeing into it. Franco tackles him, and suddenly Jailbot appears and grabs Franco. Jacknife laughs, but is then punched in the face by Jailbot, giving him a K.O. Jailbot then flies away with Franco and Jacknife into the Outer Worlds, starting up the opening intro to take them to Superjail.

A large stadium is shown as Jared and Alice (who really doesn't care at all) are the commentators. Many racers are shown, including Jean and Paul, the Monster Convict, and the Redneck Convict. Jared and Alice also commentate on Lord Stingray in the race. Jailbot drops off Franco for The Warden, who also rips off his racer’s mustache. Soon, The Warden hides in the seat of his racecar while Lord Stingray and his two soldiers come in to torment and insult Franco, disguised as The Warden. The race begins when Jailbot drops the flag with Ash in his dragster, taking the lead and crashes into a wall and gets run over by a truck and a bus next. The racers head into Ambush Alley and a garbage truck, station wagon, Hot Dog mobile, a Pontiac, and another car get crushed by the obstacles. They crash into the large room of prison cells and destroy Jared's office. They go into a kitchen and three cars fall into frying pans.

A van gets hammered and the driver is cut in half, while a race car and a trike get chopped in half, a driver and his stakebed truck almost get cut before he crashes and then five Vegetables take over but get crashed by an inmate bus, which soon explodes afterwards. The racers head into The Loafer, an area where the Lunch Ladies of Superjail collect all of the bodies of dead inmates (while also eviscerating living ones) to use for their own cooking. Two hot rods and a trike get eaten. The Warden blames Stingray and The Twins cut up a car using their chaos orbs, the Log Jam monster truck crushes several vehicles. They go into the Outer Worlds with the dinosaurs. A tractor, a superbike and another two cars get destroyed and shoot a pickup truck. They go into Amoeba World and a 1950's car gets sucked in while The Warden and Franco's racecar are covered up with a large condom and drive out of this world. The racers soon go into a post-apocalyptic world and Stingray throws a Stingray-like creature onto The Warden and Franco, with the car making a pit stop and Jailbot steals a part from another car. Franco also decides to have lunch with Jailbot bringing his children to see him.

The racers head into a colorful land filled with sentient trees and unknown creatures who kill a man in his muscle car, two teenagers on a motorcycle, a soap box racer, a race car, a old person's scooter, a luxury/British car, and a dog pound truck get both killed and destroyed. Fatty, in a Ice Cream truck, also gets killed from one of these creatures after mistaking it for a small child. Meanwhile, Paul almost gets hit by a truck when Jean tells him to get back into the monster truck with him. The Acid Swamps sucks in a racer and his car and Franco's hands are cut off! (By a fish-like creature.) Then The Warden takes over and puts Franco into the other seat and the racers head into a Rainbow Road-themed track and The Warden hits several cars and Turban, who also opens up a falafel van to sell falafel, a dragster, a motorcycle, and two other cars fall. At Mt. Trongor, The Warden hits several more cars and Jared thinks that both The Warden and Stingray are the only two racers left, until discovering that The Twins are in the lead, who soon depart from their chaos orbs as they were very bored and hungry so the orbs ends up crashing into the stadium. The winner of the race ends up being Jacknife, making The Warden lose, before he is carried out of the holder of the Purple Justice by Jailbot, which he previously hidden inside with boxes full of cigarettes to smoke. Afterwards, Franco dies from blood loss after giving The Warden his racer’s mustache for good luck.

Trivia[]

  • Despite this episode being the ninth episode of the second season, this episode was actually the final episode of the season to be produced, as the second season's final episode ("Vacation") was originally the ninth episode of the season to be produced before this one.
  • It is revealed that The Warden does not know how to drive and hires racers every year.
  • The Superjail Grand Prix's track goes through many Outer Worlds, which are alternatively called Outer Zones in this episode.
  • The "Log Jam", which is the name of Jean and Paul's monster truck, was a pun that was previously used as the title of the magazine that Jean was reading in "Ghosts."
  • The Monster Convict from "Cold-Blooded" and the Redneck Convict from "Superbar" make their second appearances in this episode. The Jimmin’ Jimmy Jazz band from "Combaticus" even appear again as racers in the Superjail Grand Prix.
  • This is the very first episode where Ash dies.
  • One of the inmates that is eviscerated and killed by The Loafter is the recurring bored Gray-Bearded inmate from "Combaticus."

  • This episode reveals that Fatty is a pedophile.
  • Skinny, the Starving Inmate, finally gets to eat food for the first time in the series, as he is seen eating from Turban’s falafel truck. This is also his first appearance since "Superbar" and the only episode of the second season where he appears in.
  • When The Warden, Franco and Stingray are falling, Franco still has hands, which he prays with, even though they were technically cut off, This could most likely be a layout error, or a joke, that was carried over into the final product, as pointed out in the episode's DVD commentary by the animator James Sugrue on the Superjail Season Two DVD.
  • Even though The Warden's car appeared to be a manual, it did not have a clutch. However, this may be due to The Warden's lack of knowledge about cars.
